About Us:
The Fairbanks family has been serving agricultural producers in Nebraska for more than a century. In 1903, even before the Wright brothers flew the first airplane, Al Fairbanks, great uncle of Jim, Loren, and Dave, began a Case dealership in Wood River, Nebraska. Soon that dealership was changed to the IH brand of equipment and Al was succeeded in 1940 by his brother Earl, who continued operations in Wood River.
In 1950, Earl's son, Loren, purchased the IH dealership in Shelton. As soon as Loren's sons Jim, Loren Jr., and Dave were old enough to empty a trash can and dust a shelf, the boys were involved in the business.
Fairbanks International today offers new and used tractors, combines and farm equipment from Case IH, New Holland and AGCO. In addition to these brands of equipment, Fairbanks International is also a dealer for Lindsay Zimmatic irrigation pivots at their Kearney, Holdrege, Lexington and Grand Island stores.
The company currently has approximately 170 full-time employees in six locations. The 170 employees include 80 trained mechanics with over 900 years of experience. Also included in the 170 full-time employees are 25 partsmen with experience totaling more than 200 years. Truly, service is the foundation of our business.
